The Ora

We are so excited to be the exclusive caterers for the fabulous new Sarasota event venue, The Ora! 

At 30,000 square feet, The Ora is among the largest event venues in the region. Designed by the architecture firm FleischmannGarciaMaslowski, the venue has a 9,500-square-foot ballroom, making it one of the largest in the area! It can accommodate gatherings of up to 1,000 people.

CATERING AND BAR SERVICES

All catering and rentals, including alcoholic beverages, must be purchased, provided, and served by Michael's On East. Any other food provider, such as, but not limited to, cake baker, must be licensed and insured. All services must be provided by the contracted caterer.

DECOR & USAGE

The ORA does not provide decorating or Event coordination services. Guest must plan for all labor associated with delivery and Event setup - including carrying/transporting items to and from Event site. The following items/activities are not permitted: Glitter, Confetti, Stapling/Nailing to walls. All decorations must be pre-approved by the ORA and must be removed by the end of the Event. The ORA strongly recommends that all decorating is conducted by pre-approved vendors.

INSURANCE

A certificate of insurance is required for ALL vendors conducting business at the ORA. The certificate must include coverage of $1,000,000 combined general liability for personal injury and property damage; MUST name Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee Inc. DBA The ORA, at 578 McIntosh Road, Sarasota, Fl 34232 as the insured; and must be received by the ORA no less than 2 weeks prior to event.

LIVE ANIMALS

The ORA does not allow pets or other live animals on the property; the ORA does permit service animals in compliance with and as set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act.

MUSIC, SOUND ABATEMENT & FIREWORKS

The ORA is located adjacent to noise-sensitive residential areas. Sarasota County ordinances prohibit unreasonable sound, including amplified music, and these ordinances are strictly enforced. The ORA prohibits fireworks from being deployed in conjunction with any Event held at The ORA regardless of the location from which the fireworks are deployed.

SMOKING

The ORA is a smoke-free facility/campus. No smoking or vaping of any kind is permitted on the ORA property. 

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

If the Contracting Guest cancels the contract more than 9 months prior to Event, 50% of the initial 50% deposit will be refunded. If the Contracting Guest cancels less than 9 months prior to the Event, the entire 50% deposit will be forfeited. The total fee is retained by the ORA if the Event is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the date of the Event.

GREEN ROOMS

Upon request, a green room may be provided by the ORA as a courtesy, if available. Access to the ORA green rooms is NOT available prior to the scheduled time. The Green Room, if available, may be accessed by the Guest no earlier than 3 p.m. on the day of the event. No exceptions.

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY

On Event Date only, the ORA permits Guest and up to 30 Event Guests the opportunity to take photographs in the area that is being rented starting at 3:00 p.m. No exceptions. Photography may not restrict the use of or block the entrance/exit to any facilities routinely open to the public during normal ORA operating hours. Moving any ORA property (signs, benches, etc.) is not permitted. Drone photography by a professional operator on Event Date is permitted. Drones may not be in use prior to 5:00 p.m. and the Guest will be held responsible for any damage caused by the drone.

SECURITY

Certain events may be required to have a security officer on hand from the start of the event until the last attendee has left the ORA Event Center. The cost for this professional security officer will be the responsibility of the Guest. Procuring the security officer will be the responsibility of the ORA (through the Campus Security Office). It is agreed and understood that such a security officer will be hired to assist with the event safety – not the physical property of the Guest.
